shade test

Recently I've been working on shading my drawings a lot more. I usually have a sketch pad near me when I'm working, I found a sharpie and started shading away. Here is one of my attempts to shade.

Shoudou

This a character that I came up with for a contest. The contest was to come up with a character that would fit in the Naruto universe. I came up with this guy Shoudou, his origin is actually pretty cool, it has to do with being raised by Yeti's. He is kick ass I have some more drawing of him I'll try to post them this week.

Free Falling

I know it has been a loong while since I updated. I've been trying to work on finishing drawings instead of just posting these sketches. So hopefully my next post will be a more finished piece. I'll be mixing it up between finished & sketch pieces.

I wanted to get this guy falling to the ground with some sort of energy coming from his hand. I'm not sure that I got it quite right but I'm gonna clean this one up a bit.

Aiight I'm out.

Head door knocker

This is one of my favorite pieces. I drew this on the subway one day, an old mans head that has been turned into a door knocker. It's funny when I started this drawing all I wanted to do was draw really deep sunken in eyes. I don't think I really got that here, sure they are dark but I don't think they look sunken. I still really dig this one.
have a good weekend.

Desert

I do a lot of head shots I need to work on my bodies more, this is one of the ones that I like how it came out.
This is a desert character, he's wearing some kind of turban. Obviously he's carrying a big ass sword. I like the way this character came out, I guess his face could use some work, but overall I like it.

Logan, Scott & Wade

Obviously (well I hope obviously) this is Logan, Cyclops and Deadpool. I was just bored messing around and drew these three straight from the dome. I think I caught them pretty well, easily identifiable.
That's it for monday, later homies.

Sketchbookpro

I didn't really have any time to do a scan today, but I did get this drawing program called Sketchbook Pro. It's freaking awesome! It's not fancy like photoshop, all it does is let you draw, I find it a bit more realistic in the way it feels compared to Photoshop.
The drawing above is one of my first attempts at using the new program. Nothing special about it I left all the lines so you can see how pencil like it looks.
Have a good weekend

Cover and thumbs

This was the Cover and first few pages to a mini comic my friend and I were going to do. I didn't get very far in the drawing stages. I don't really know much a bout the story other then there is this lone Women who carries a shotgun and a sword. She walks into this town and... that's all I really know about it. It was fun drawing up the thumbnails.

A few Faces

These are just a few faces. the top two are pretty random, I was looking at a Francisco Herrera sketchbook when I drew the top left one (if it looks familiar, that's why). the bottom one is of a character I created named Shoudou, I'll be posting more pictures of him so keep your eyes open for them.
I'm busy as hell, see ya later

Mohawk mask

I don't know if you noticed or not, but all of the drawings I have put up so far are pretty small. This new one is no exception, it's just a small thing I drew on the corner of a piece of paper.
I could have cleaned up the image a bit, but whatevs.
there is no real story to this chracter, it's wearing a mask, has a mohawk and.... yeah that's pretty much it

Chained ghost

I called this one chained ghost, the idea was a ghost that couldn't leave the house that it was in. it looks like it has a beard, I don't know what that's about.

The beginning

Okay here is two of the scribbles I was talking about, these were done sometime last year. I drew these while riding the subway here in NYC.
More to come

so...

Starting next week I'm going to start posting random drawings that I've done. Don't expect anything to great. Some are new some are old, comments are welcome. I'm always trying to improve my craft, if you have the patience to stick around something wonderful might happen.
Thanks
